Theresa's research explores the legal and regulatory aspects of artificial intelligence in journalism, focusing on protecting local and regional journalism in a technology and AI-driven media landscape. She is particularly interested in examining the impact of power concentrations on media pluralism and investigates the EU regulatory frameworks concerning media, AI, and platforms.
Before her current role as a Postdoctoral researcher, Theresa was a PhD researcher at the AI, Media & Democracy Lab at the University of Amsterdam and a visiting researcher at the Polis Think-Tank in the Department for Media and Communications at LSE. Before that, she also conducted research at the Hans-Bredow-Institute (Leibniz Institute for Media Research) in Hamburg and worked with media and press freedom NGOs.
